    • In his study, Hurst (1972) defined the distance between the two locations into three categories, as physical distance (km), time distance (hour, minute) and economic distance ($, £, ). Tümertekin (1987) came up with the concept of communication distance in addition to these three categories. In this study, besides these theoretical explanations of distance, the terms of safety and comfort distances were mentioned. In other words, people may also consider safety and comfort of the distance between the two locations as well as they care about the length, time and economy of their travel. In the study, it was emphasized that the mountain road, which is an important transportation corridor between Burdur and Isparta, should be directed to a safer alternative road due to the mass movements. Geodesign theory was used in the study.
