- Videokunst wird im Marler Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten seit 1984 prämiert, Klangkunst seit 2002. Dadurch steht Marl über die deutsche Museumslandschaft hinaus singulär da. In diesem Jahr werden der EUROPEAN SOUNDART AWARD und der ebenfalls international ausgeschriebene Videokunst-Preis zum zweiten Mal gemeinsam in einer Ausstellung gezeigt. Beide Wettbewerbe hatten die gleiche inhaltliche Vorgabe: Alle ausgewählten Arbeiten beziehen sich thematisch, formal oder in ihrer Präsentation auf den dreidimensionalen Raum. The Marl Sculpture Museum has been awarding prizes for video art since 1984 and for sound art since 2002, which makes Marl unique among German museums. This year the EUROPEAN SOUNDART AWARD and the Video Art Award, both announced internationally, are for the second time being presented together in the same exhibition. Both competitions share the same contextual requirements - all the selected works must deal with three-dimensional space, either thematically, formally or in their presentation.
