With the help of ethnographical examples this volume shows that ritual, medial and performative processes and practices ideally can be analysed in their relationship to one another. This volume not only focuses on transformation but also presents selected aspects of theory, methods and history of cultural and social anthropology. Furthermore, it includes contributions on the ethnography and cultural history of the Caribbean which discusses the social status, religious practices and remembrance as well as texts which discusses the relationships between the political, medial and cultural spheres.
