    • Experience has frequently been regarded as one of the central features of Pentecostal-charismatic movement and as one of the reasons for its tremendous growth. Yet, the concepts of experience which are operationalized in Pentecostal theology have seldom been questioned, let aside their philosophical premises. This book studies two of the most important Pentecostal theologians, reconstructing and evaluating their notions of experience and their underlying epistemologies. Terry Cross' theologia experientiae, which draws from Karl Barth's dialectic, and Amos Yong's theologia religionum, which is based on a notion of experience influenced by the American pragmatist C.S. Peirce and by Catholic metaphysics, are thus for the first time critically assessed by a German publication and compared with one another.
