In addition, it addresses radicalism as one of the overall defining factors of Pietism for example, with Francke, Zinzendorf and the Moravian Church as well as among representatives of Lutheran orthodoxy. - Wolfgang Breul, Dr. theol., ist seit 2009 Professor für Kirchengeschichte an der Universität Mainz. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Hallescher Pietismus, radikaler Pietismus, Geschichte der Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine, Kultur- und Sozialgeschichte des Pietismus und die Geschichte der frühen Reformation (Täufertum, Ritterschaft).Er ist Mitglied der Historischen Kommission zur Erforschung des Pietismus, des Beirats des Interdisziplinären Zentrums für Pietismusforschung, der Historischen Kommission für Hessen, Vorsitzender des Stiftungsrats der Ebernburgstiftung u.a.m.Wolfgang Breul ist Herausgeber des Pietismus Handbuchs (2021).
