- Pakistan being an agricultural country is facing chronic shortage of edible oils. The indigenous production doesnt meet the edible oil requirement of the country. Annually about Rs. 72 billion is spent on its import to fulfill the country requirement and now due to the mushrooming growth in population the requirement in increasing further.
