    • Urban areas in every country are associated with lots of activities that increase the attraction and the traffic mobility of which migration and floating population into the urbans like Addis Ababa becomes an additive cause for various traffic problems. Every intersection in the town street is accompanied by a fixed traffic signal but the traffic signal timings were observed to be not effective resulting in more traffic delays. Ras Mekonnen Street was identified as one of the busiest corridors with lots of traffic volumes and delays at each signalized intersection. This study was conducted in the above selected corridor via data: reconnaissance survey, measure of road widths at the intersection points, analysis of geometric and traffic data, redesigning traffic signals, obtaining and plotting new timings, estimation of average traffic delay and determining intersection capacity and level of service. The study results indicate that series of traffic signals along selected corridor were synchronized, and the average control delay get reduced at respective intersections which provides some guidelines to synchronize the traffic signals more effectively at every signalized intersection.
