    • Fertilizer use is essential practice in agriculture for getting proper yield from the crop. Excess use of chemical fertilizers has led to the soil pollution and contamination of the water. Bio-fertilizers are eco friendly fertilizers, alternatives for the ecological problems emerged by chemical fertilizers and beneficial to the soil without any damage to soil and environment. In Kodaikanal, growth of carrot is influenced by chemical fertilizers, particularly phosphate fertilizers. The use of bio-fertilizers has still not spread uniformly because lack of awareness and proper promotion. So for creating proper promotional strategy for adoption of bio fertilizers, a study was carried out in kodaikanal region. From this field study, we conclude that the application of biofertilizers will be effective for growth and yield of carrot. The study was done during winter season at small scale level, before recommending the results to the farmers at Kodaikanal region the experiment must be repeated in another two seasons (summer & monsoon) and also at large scale.
